Great question! Many of our students choose to study the Certificate IV in Information Technology followed by the Diploma of Information Technology. You can think of Certificate IV in Information Technology as building foundational skills in IT. It can be completed within 1 year. This qualification builds key skills in areas such as managing cyber security risks, using introductory programming techniques and resolving client IT problems. The Certificate IV in Information Technology can be a great choice if you’re new to studying to IT, looking for entry-level IT jobs or seeking a pathway to a Diploma of IT. On the other hand, the Diploma of Information Technology builds more specialised skills in web development while also developing your IT knowledge in other areas. Studying a Diploma of Information Technology can be a good choice if you’re looking to specialise in web development, or are seeking a pathway to an Advanced Diploma or a Bachelor of Cyber Security.
