In this unit, you will build your understanding of different WHS laws, duties, rights and obligations. You will then explore how you can communicate these legal requirements to others and make recommendations for better following WHS laws.
BSBWHS413	Contribute to implementation and maintenance of WHS consultation and participation process	Jump into the important world of WHS consultation, where input from workers and other stakeholders is sought on WHS issues. Learn how to undertake WHS consultation, including creating opportunities for various individuals to provide their feedback. Also build your skills in sharing WHS information, recording captured feedback and implementing WHS improvements.
BSBWHS414	Contribute to WHS risk management	Develop your ability to contribute to WHS risk management. Learn how to use processes for identifying WHS hazards, assessing WHS risks and developing controls for managing WHS risks. Also discover how you can implement, monitor and improve WHS risk controls.
BSBWHS415	Contribute to implementing WHS management frameworks	Build your understanding of a WHS Management Framework, including what it is and what benefits it can bring to an organisation. Develop your skills in preparing and carrying out a WHS framework implementation plan, then evaluating its success.
BSBWHS416	Contribute to workplace incident response	A crucial part of WHS is understanding and responding to workplace incidents. Workplace incidents are events that cause, or have the potential to cause, harm, injury or illness to people, or damage to property, such as accidents. In this unit, you will build your incident response skills. You will learn how to use incident response processes, document incidents, investigate the causes of incidents and develop recommendations for avoiding future incidents.
BSBWHS418	Assist with managing WHS compliance of contractors	Discover how you can assist with managing the work health and safety of contractors. Build your skills in contributing to contractor WHS inductions, assessing contractor WHS compliance and escalating issues of non-compliance.

You will build your ability to draft, edit, proofread and finalise written documents. You will also learn techniques for creating professional documents that are

WHS Law Essentials short course – This comprehensive two-day course has been designed to build essential legal knowledge that will enable you to fulfil your WHS obligations effectively. By the end of the course, you’ll be equipped to meet your legal WHS responsibilities for creating safer workplaces.
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment – This can enable you to become a WHS trainer. Choose to train students at a private college or TAFE, or become someone who trains employees within a business. You’ll have the flexibility to become a full-time, part-time or casual trainer.

Entry requirements

Domestic Students
To study this course, you need to be 18 years of age or older at the time of your enrolment.

You also need to meet one of the following options:

Option 1: Have completed a qualification at Certificate III level or higher,
or

Option 2: Hold a minimum of two years equivalent full-time work experience in a role that requires the use of written documentation and communication

Please note: Having access to a workplace is preferred, but not essential.

You will also need have access to appropriate technology. This includes a computer with a reliable internet connection and browsing ability, word processing applications such as Word and Spreadsheet applications such as Excel. We recommend Microsoft Office Suite.
